37 Years of Growth
Christian World Mission began operating in Chile when the Steve Phillips family arrived in Santiago, Chile in 1977 and took up the task of spreading the Word of God through the “El Encuentro Bible Correspondence Course”, which had been written, published and distributed by previous missionaries. At that time more than 16,000 people responded to newspaper ads inviting them to participate. Over the years since, tens of thousands have enrolled and the course has been translated into other languages. It is now available online.
Our primary tool for evangelizing has changed and expanded over the years, from tent campaigns to Christian Schools and institutions. Ten pre-schools, ten grade schools, ten middle schools and seven High Schools have been established with 6,000 students and multiple others were helped in getting started. Now there are more than 200 throughout Chile. CWM has also established several Bible Institutes, Music Academies, Ministries and have planted dozens of congregations and hundreds of home Bible Studies. CWM also has two failed attempts at establishing an accredited CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY in 1990 and 2010.
Christian World Mission proclaims the Gospel with concerts, rallies, special events and conferences together with local churches. Discipleship is carried out through small group interaction, mentoring programs together with classes, seminars and formal studies together with local churches. Most of the work of Christian World Mission is done through the Chilean non-profit corporation known as MISIÓN MUNDIAL CRISTIANA.
The goal is to maintain this momentum and build on the accomplishments God has granted and expand this ministry in EVANGELISM, EDUCATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT.
